The London Magazine: and Monthly Chronologer. MDCCXLV [1745]. London:
Printed for T. Astley, at the Rose in Pater-Noster-Row, [1745-6].
Twelve monthly issues, January-December 1745, plus volume title,
appendix, indexes and a preface. Thick 8vo (21 cm); 18th-century calf
and marbled boards, spines with raised bands, gilt-stamped year and
leather spine label; iv + 657 + [19] pp.; with engraved title-page, 2
maps/plans, woodcut decorations, musical notation.
An important volume for its extensive contemporary coverage of "THE
FORTY-FIVE," the Jacobite uprising in Scotland led by the Young
Pretender, Charles Edward Stuart, better known as BONNIE PRINCE CHARLIE.
