(INCUNABULA) EPISTELEN EN EVANGELIEN, met Sermoenen... (Devanter: Jacques 
de Breda. March 1, 1493). 4to. ff.255(of 256), lacking A1 the title leaf 
(with cut). Dutch text, gothic type. Rubricated throughout, with capitals filled 
in; large decorated initial "B" with marginal flourishes on A2. Text 
illustrated with 18 woodcuts, each colored by a contemporary hand. Bound in 18th 
century calf over speckled paper boards. Front hinge split at top 2 inches. 
Top margin a bit trimmed, touching a few page numbers. The text of A1 (the 
missing title) is written out in manuscript on the front blank before the 
text, dated in 1627.     $15,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
Very rare Dutch incunable. Not in Goff (the 1972 "Supplement" lists one 
copy in the trade). Not in the BL. HC 6658. Polain 1409 (the copy described in 
the Belgian Royal Library being quite defective). Breda printed two editions 
in Dutch, in 1493 and 1496.
