with both blind-stamped and gilt-stamped borders and gilt lettering and
decorations on the spine; (ii), x, (iv), 159, (1) pages. Illustrated
with six full-page engravings. The First English Translation of this
title which compares the customs of India with Jewish Biblical lore.
Included are discussions of circumcision, the principal causes of
Paganism and Idolatry, the sacrifices of the Indians and their manner of
honoring the Gods, their way of eating locusts and their aversion to
wine, etc. Text evenly browned. Joints splitting but covers still very
tight. A Very Good copy of an uncommon title. $850.00
