OESTERREICH. Vienna: Reillyschen Geographischen. 1796. 8vo. This copy 
contains the engraved half-title, a finely engraved title (within an ornate 
border), 3 engraved section titles, 27 pages of engraved index or "register of 
the plates," and 167 hand-colored military costume plates, plus a folding 
color table at back. Cont. full calf, ornately gilt spine which is worn at the 
bottom section. Overall a lovely copy.     $4,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
The plates (both for infantrymen and cavalrymen) have descriptive text at 
top & bottom of the leaf. Note: copies of this scarce book are found with 
different plate counts. Hiller, p. 376, states 159 color plates, and Colas 
#1240 states 159 plates; Lipperheide. KATALOG DER KOSTUM-BIBLIOTHEK #2228 cites 
170 color plates. The only other copy currently offered for sale (German 
dealer) has 160 color plates.
