GALLANDIUM. V. C. DE NUMMO IMP. ANTONINI PIUS... Rome: F. Gonzagem.
1709. 30,(2)pp. Illus. with engraved coins & with a large folding
engraved plate. The three works bound together in cont. calf, ornately
gilt spine, with the bookplate of the Chatsworth Library (the Duke of
Devonshire). Front hinge cracked but holding fine.  $650.00 (trade
discount allowed)
Three very scarce works on the ancient coins of & the reigns of Severus
Alexander, and Antoninus Pius, Emperors of Rome. Vignoli (d. 1732) was
the Keeper of the Vatican Library and an expert on Roman and Papal
coins. The OCLC description of the third work (1709) does not mention
the large folding engraved plate.
