The binding … is made from one of Louise‟s favorite dresses, in accordance with her habit of preserving the memory of favorite dresses … when they were to be discarded for further wear.” The binding is a kind of soft figured brocade with a leather label, and is well preserved. The book consists of essays on writers and others, including Virginia Woolf, Ezra Pound, Housman, Proust, Gide, et al.
