Title page is an uncolored lithograph. This is the first colored
botanical work to be printed and lithographed in Canada. See Lande
#1660 where he states "each illustration had to pass through her (Agnes
Fitzgibbon) hands not less than sixteen times." The first edition with
the 1868 date is scarce; see Lande (Supp.) S221 where "500 copies" is
the total printing given for the 1868 first edition. The second edition
of 1869 comes up at auction (ABPC) but not one copy of the 1868 is
recorded. Plesch p. 439 (the 1869 edition).
