First edition, early copy, dated Aug. 1856 (which was the month of publication) by the original owner.  7 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches.  Dark brown cloth stamped in blind and gold.  Wear to corners and to top and bottom of spine with some minimal loss.  One corner bumped.  Only 3000 copies printed.  End paper with two previous owner inscriptions.  Interior clean and bright.
