different publisher (Peterson) under the title 
'Wild Southern Scenes. A Tale of Disunion! And 
Border War!', this is the true first edition, and 
it is rare. Mild foxing, blindstamp on the front 
free endpaper from publisher & bookseller D.L. 
Guernsey, 'Dealers in Books, Stationary, 
Periodicals & Fancy Goods, Concord, N.H.'; small, 
dine-sized bleached spot on rear cover, a touch 
of fraying to spine tips; a very good, solid 
copy, clean and attractive. Worldcat, OCLC and 
COPAC all list only microfilm or electronic files 
of this edition; the only copy we can locate is 
in the Library of Congress. ¶ Sensational novel
