First Edition. Number 726 of 1000 numbered copies SIGNED by the author 
of this collection compiled from fifteen of the author's notebooks 
beginning when he was 18. This copy from the Saul Shapiro collection 
with his bookplate on the front pastedown. Mr. Shapiro collected signed 
Modern First Editions with a Jewish connection (the author, a character, 
subject matter, etc.) which he then had rebound by a variety of fine 
binders. This title has been intriguingly rebound in full black morocco 
with twelve raised black morocco squares with a geometric gilt design at 
the top on each cover; gilt lettering on the spine, and deep blue 
marbled endpapers. Also present in the same marbled paper is a chemise 
and slipcase, the chemise with a gilt-lettered black morocoo backstrip 
and the slipcase with outer edges lined in black morocco. Alas, the 
binder failed to identify him/herself. Fine in a stunning custom binding 
and slipcase.         $1,500.00
