By Wilhelm Bode.
Published in New York by M.A.S. de Reinis in 1980. Revised edition.

DISCUSSION: Originally published in several volumes in a very limited
edition in 1907 and 1912, Bode’s masterpiece is reissued here with a new
index and extensive prefatory material by James David Draper. Wilhelm
Bode, General Director of the Royal Museums in Berlin, was –the- authority
on Italian Renaissance statuettes in his era, and Draper notes that, in
spite of its age and inevitable defects, “the book’s wealth of
illustrations has continued to make it indispensable –the mainstay of
curators, collectors, dealers and scholars in general”.

illustrations, plus 266 black & white plates. With the errata sheet.

binding and no marks.

PRICE: $1,125 ~ net.
