Annapolis: Record Printing Office, 1887. First printing, Original cloth, 
Octavo, 395 pages. Near Fine.
      The classic popular history of Annapolis which was subscribed by the 
State of Maryland in 1886. A treasure trove of old Annapolis lore extracted 
from the Maryland Gazette as well as valuable history and information from 
previously unpublished sources. This was Oswald Tilghman's copy, with his 
ownership inscription dated in 1893 on front free endpaper. Tilghman was a 
member of the Maryland Senate from 1893-1897, and Secretary of State of 
Maryland from 1904-1908. Full index, errata sheet bound in at rear. Bound in 
dark green pebbled cloth over boards with blind embossed border rules on 
both boards, spine titled in gilt. Gilt spine lettering remains clear and 
legible, hinges and binding are sound. Shallow wrinkles to spine ends, with 
an expert repair to heel of spine....... $125.00
