uncut (boards a bit soiled), nicely rebacked in calf with red morocco

James Thacher (1754-1844) served as a surgeon during the American
Revolution and was this country's first medical biographer. In this
work he makes an impassioned plea to not allow dogs to run at large
after they have been bitten by one known to be rabid. Austin #1880.
