ROSSETTI, Christina G.  POEMS.  Boston, 1866.  The rare 1st US edition, "Third Thousand." Approximately 7 x 4-1/2 inches in original dark red cloth with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Spine and corners a bit rubbed. Includes title pages and frontispieces from "Goblin Market and other Poems,"  and "The Prince's Progress and other Poems." Pagination is continuous. Top edge gilt. STEIN, GERTRUDE.  PORTRAITS AND PRAYERS.  N.Y., (1934).  1st edition. Approximately 8 x 6 inches in original photo-illustrated boards backed in textured cloth with paper title label on spine. The two printed flaps of the dust wrapper are laid in; the glassine which connected them is gone. A literary and artistic who's who of the first three decades of the 20th Century. A little dusty at the edges, otherwise very good.  ($60)  $20

STEIN.  FOUR SAINTS IN THREE ACTS. AN OPERA TO BE SUNG.  N.Y., 1934.  First printing in black cloth with original dust wrapper printed in black and red. Introduction by Carl Van Vechten. Approximately 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches. Dust wrapper with a little toning, a little chipped, and several closed tears around perimeter, 1 X 1/4 inch chip missing from top.  ($40)  $20

WOOLF, Virginia.  THE COMMON READER.  N.Y., (1925).  First U. S. edition. Only 2000 printed.  Large octavo, original cloth, lettering on spine faded, light foxing on the first few pages.   (Conrad, Jane Austen, the Brontes, Defoe, George Eliot, &c.  This edition contains material not present in the first British edition of the same year.)  ($40)  $20

Inked gift inscription on front free end paper. [Rilke, Freud, Nietzsche, &c.] (Born in St Petersburg in 1861,  Andreas-Salome was the daughter of a Russian General. She married Prof. Friedrich Andreas of Gottingen & was a prolific author. She died in 1937.)
