KEBLE, John. EVENING. E.P. Dutton. NY. 1884. Second American edition, following the first American edition of the previous year, which was the first edition with these illustrations. Original publisher's flexible white boards with title and author's name, in an attractive script, cast in a chrome-like metal and affixed to the front board. Approx. 8 x 6 inches; [16] leaves, printed rectos only, including engraved half-title. Tear to base of spine, some soiling to boards; good plus. Illustrations throughout the text engraved by George T. Andrew after Frank T. Merrill, J.D. Woodward, and F. Childe Hassam. This poem was first published in book form as "Keble's Evening Hymn" in 1865, but with different illustrations. ($10)
