1988. First Edition. First novel by this Catholic writer in 25 years,
since his National Book Award-winning MORTE D'URBAN, and his final work,
a funny and very moving novel about the making and remaking of a priest.
This copy is SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper. Additionally
Powers has noted on the bottom of the endpaper, in pencil, that he has
made two emendations in the text. Both are in ink and initialled by
Powers. Also laid in is a 1991 AUTOGRAPH NOTE SIGNED (ANS) by the author
to a collector. Fine in a close to Fine dustwrapper with a tiny closed
