Published in Los Angeles by The Zamorano Club in 1964.

DISCUSSION: An informal but witty and famous short historical sketch of
our forefathers’ tippling habits in the Colonial and Federal periods.
“Every man, woman and child drank freely; a Virginia dram (peach brandy)
was as essential to health as breakfast. William Cobbett cautioned against
excesses in children and felt that their beer should be slightly warmed”.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 7.5”x10.5”, [xiv] + 62 pages, decorative title
page, 8 black & white plates, with additional wood engravings by Marion
Kronfeld. Quarter linen and decorated boards.

CONDITION NOTES: Some minor soil, spine darkened and spine label chipped,
but otherwise is clean and nice, with a tight binding.
