TITLE: “Illustrations of Armorial China”

Privately in 1887.
Limited to 100 copies.

DISCUSSION: A lovely and scarce collection of 24 examples of 18th century
china bearing English arms, each example illustrated in a full-page color
plate. Although spends almost all his limited text discussing the arms and
their attendant families, much, if not most, of the china appears to be of
China Trade origin. The pieces were drawn from a number of private
collections, which are noted by name.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 11”x14.5”, 24 pages and 24 color plates (one
folding), reproduced by the Griggs Photo-Chromo process. Tan boards with a
vellum spine with gilt titling, as issued.

CONDITION NOTES: Some cover soil. Hinges reinforced. Light internal soil.
