THE FEMALE AMERICAN; OR, THE ADVENTURES OF UNCA ELIZA WINKFIELD. COMPILED BY HERSELF, IN 2 VOLUMES. VOLUME 2 (ONLY).
London: Francis Noble & John Noble, 1767.
Vol. 2 only. First edn. Old rubbed boards with neatly repaired leather spine and new label, piece torn from bottom of last advt. leaf - no loss. [2], 171, [9] pages (last 9 pages are advts.) A unique Robinsonade, featuring a heroine of mixed race - the daughter of an American Indian princess and a Virginia planter. "Historical references to Colonial America and 18th Century England, the fantasy of a feminist utopia, and the woman's role in colonialism and religious conversion are just a few of the components of this narrative ... Unca Eliza Winkfield's grandfather is said to be Edward Wingield, the first President of the Virginia Colony." RARE. OCLC locates only 3 copies in the U.S. and one at the British Library. ESTC T66366 locates one further copy. There are no auction records. $2,500.00
[COLLIER, JANE].

London: Wm. Miller, 1804.
Old half calf, some spine wear, hinge cracked but firm. Frontispiece by Gillray of a cat playing with a mouse. A minor satirical classic. $125.00
KAY SCOTT, C[YRIL], (Pseud. of FREDERICK CREIGHTON WELLMAN.)
SINBAD, A ROMANCE.
N.Y.: Thomas Seltzer, 1923. First edition. Original blue cloth stamped in gold & blind, lettering on spine faded, otherwise very good. Nice SIGNED INSCRIPTION: "For Lola Ridge from her devoted friend C. Kay Scott.. N. Y. C., May 25th, 1923." A sorry tale of the adventures of a young woman. The story of "Kay-Scott's" amours, various self-styled personae and world travels were, themselves, novelistic. $125.00
