GRUTER, Jan . INSCRIPTIONES ANTIQUAE TOTIUS ORBIS ROMANI IN 
ABSOLUTISSIMUM CORPUS REDACTAE.... Amsterdam: Francis Halma, 1707. 
Second Edition. Two large folio (11-3/4" x 19-1/2") volumes bound in 
contemporary vellum with gilt-lettered morocco spine labels; [4], 14, 
56, DCCXLVIII; [2], DCCXLIX-MCLXXIX, XXVII, [6], CCCLVI pages. Gruter's 
catalogue of ancient roman epigraphy was first published in 1601-1603 
and is here expanded and edited by Jan Graevius. Illustrated with 
additional engraved title pages, portraits, numerous full-page and 
partial-page engraved plates, and woodcut illustrations throughout the 
text. Internally very clean; bindings with some wear, surface a little 
tacky. Very Good example of an uncommon title. (#016469)        $1,500.00
