[CLEMENS SAML. L.] HOW TO TELL A STORY: THE HUMOROUS STORY OF AN AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT. --
ITS DIFFERENCE FROM COMIC AND WITTY STORIES. [IN: THE YOUTH’S COMPANION, Boston, October 3rd,
1895.] Tall folio, approx. 16 X 11 inches, 12 pages, as issued. A few small marginal tears. Twain’s piece occupies about 2/3rds of a page. It was the title-piece in his “How to Tell a Story and Other Essays” published in 1897.
Twain’s original appearances in periodicals in their original formats are often hard to obtain, and are valuable in view of his tendency to re-edit.
$ 175.00 ($150.00 to the trade)
