Quarto, old heavy wrappers, 180, [1] pages, nicely printed on heavy paper, full margins, light spine wear, an attractive copy.  Six nice plates.  Small label on end paper: "Ex Libris Leonis Olschki, Bibliopolae Veneti."  OCLC locates only 2 copies in the U.S.: Harvard & Duke, and one in Switzerland.  A scarce book with a distinguished provenance.  ($200)  $100

Vol. V, Sketches of 21 Magazines 1905 - 1930: 1st ptg, 1968.  Each volume measures 9 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches.  Contains a mass of easily retrievable information and comment. Original printed wraps and spine bound in half-leather with marbled end papers, 10 x 7 inches.  25 folding maps.   Provenance:  Ulysses S. Grant III, Major General USA,  a participant in WWI. 
(Marshall Foch became famous for his role in the first and second Battles of the Marne, and was made Commander of the Allied armies.  For his role in WW ONE and the peace negotiations, Grant was awarded the Legion of Honor and the Croix de Guerre.)  ($110)  $75

CREVEL, Rene.  LES PIEDS DANS LE PLAT.  Paris, 1933.  First edition of this surrealistic novel.  Printed wraps, 7 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches.  In excellent shape with the expected age-toning to pages and wraps.  ($75)  $35

GOULD, Geo. M., et al.  OPHTHALMOLOGICAL OFFPRINTS [20 TITLES].  A collection of 20 offprints by Geo. M. Gould.  All published in the late 19th century from a variety of sources.  All are printed wraps or disbound, removed articles.  One is signed "With Dr. Gould's Compliments."  Titles such as "The Statistics and Lessons of Fifteen Hundred Cases of Refraction," "The Psychological Influence of Errors of Refraction and of Their Correction," and "The Practical Adjustment of Spectacles."  Gould was Lafcadio Hearn's ophthalmologist and friend.  Hearn had lost the vision in his left eye in a playground accident as a youth.  The two were friends for a time but later feuded over some of Hearn's possessions which had been left with Gould.  ($150)  $70
