One double-page plate at p. 152 and text illustrated with numerous woodcut diagrams. Cont. mottled calf, spine gilt, red morocco spine label. Small chip at top of spine. Hinges repaired, front hinge with a split at the very top, but hinges are quite sound. Text lightly soiled.	$1,250.00 (trade discount allowed)
First edition of this curious criticism of Descartes' system of vortices. The English translation (1694) was titled, "A Voyage to the World of Cartesius" and is picked up by all of fantasy, science fiction and Utopian bibliographies, as it is, in effect, a cosmic voyage to the moon.
