TITLE: “Trails of the Hunted”

By James L. Clark.
Published in Boston by Little, Brown and Company in 1929. 2nd printing.

DISCUSSION: James L. Clark [1883–1969] was, among many talents, a
photographer, sculptor, explorer, hunter, and naturalist who worked for
the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He was also an expert
taxidermist, and was responsible for some of the most notable groups that
are on display at the museum. In this book he discusses his interactions
with a wide variety of wild animals in Africa, America, and Asia, as well
as his museum work.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 6”x9”, 310 pages, black & white illustrations.
Warmly inscribed by the author.

CONDITION NOTES: The covers have some light soil and wear and light
chipping at the top of the spine (please see the photos, below). The book
itself has a slight crack to the front hinge and some very light scattered
internal soil.
