BOUND WITH: Weller, Hieronymum (i.e. Weller, Jerome). PASSIONAL. Wie Man dar Leiben Unsers Herrn Jhesu Christi mit Frucht Bedencken... Leipzig: (Ernesto Voegelin. 1565). ff.(24). With the final blank. Title page and every page of text within a fine woodcut border. Both works bound together in cont. blind paneled & gilt stamped calf. Both orig. brass clasps are present. Two very rare editions.
1. The six leaves of preface (dated 1556) are by Philip Melanchthon, close friend of Lasius (1504-1572), a Spandau pastor who was within Luther's circle. This edition not recorded in OCLC or VD 16.
II. Weller (1495-1572) was a student of Luther who lived in his house and served as a tutor to Luther's son. This edition not in OCLC.  VD 16 ZV17502 (1 on-line record in Germany).
