Bedell. 1647. Folio. (8),407,(1)pp. With the license leaf before the title. Large copper engraved vignette on title. BOUND WITH: Davila, Enrico Caterino.. THE CONTINUATION AND CONCLUSION OF THE CIVILL WARRES OF FRANCE... London: Printed by Ruth Raworth, and sold by Thomas Heath. 1648. (2),(409)-1478pp. Both bound together in cont. full calf, with the gilt oval stamps, "The Society of Writers to the Signet." Later spine label. Free endpapers lacking. Final leaf of text a bit soiled, and with a repaired tear (no loss). Hinges & tops of spines lightly chipped but overall quite sound. Quite a decent copy for this large volume in its original binding.	$1,250.00 (trade discount allowed)
The first edition in English of the well respected history which first appeared in Venice in 1630. The translation is by William Aylesbury. Wing D413 and D412c.
