dealer Adolphe Goupil, including setting up a studio, working with colors,
subject matter, mediums and tools, perspective, restoration and
preservation, and lost-wax painting.

Adolphe Goupil (1806-1893) was one of the greatest art dealers and art
publishers of the nineteenth century. There were few facets of the arts
Goupil did not have a hand in, from publishing fine art prints, catalogs
and books, to operating galleries selling fine art in Europe, England and
America. Vincent and Theodore van Gogh were once employees, and Adolphe
Goupil's daughter married the artist Jean-Léon Gérôme.

By Jacques Blockx.

Jacques Blockx [1844-1913] was the founder of the French paint company

who never painted, will contribute more to the painters of tomorrow than
what we will have accomplished, all the modern painters together". A small
volume, but a mighty one.
