The Amphions, a musical group from Cortland County, New York State, took
part in The Whole World's Temperance Convention, held in New York City,
September 1-2, 1853. From the minutes of the Convention: "...As music was,
therefore, eminently appropriate for Temperance demonstrations, the
`Amphion Glee Club' should be invited to exercise
their vocal talent. The spokesman of the "Amphions" made a small
preliminary speech...." $50.00
