Published in Dobbs Ferry by Morgan & Morgan in 1978.

DISCUSSION: The story, in his own words, of James Van Der Zee [1886-1983],
African American photographer best known for his portraits of black New
Yorkers. A leading figure in the Harlem Renaissance, he produced the most
comprehensive documentation of life in Harlem of the period. This book
explores his photographs of funerals and the dead in Harlem.

DESCRIPTION: Softcover. 9”x10.5”, 85 pages, black & white illustrations.

CONDITION NOTES: The cover has some soil and wear (please see the photos,
above and below). The interior has some minor soil, but otherwise is clean
and nice, with a tight binding.
