Boston: [Wells and Lilly, printers] Published for the Subscribers, 1817. FIRST EDITION. Pamphlet, 8vo, bound in recent french wraps; 55, [1] pp. Shaw-Shoemaker Early American Imprints 41882.

Very uncommon early American work on Swedenborgianism; also of significance for being one of the earliest published works on philosophy written by a woman in the United States. The author's name was only revealed with the second edition, not published until 1856, in London. Light to moderate browning and spotting (as is typical of early American imprints) mostly relegated to the margins; small ink spot on title-page; otherwise clean and sound and firmly bound in fresh modern wraps.
