"From the beginning of the present Controversie in Matters of Government, all Decency of Speech, Rules of Good Manners, Respect of Language, or Difference to Persons, have been laid aside as Things Needless and Obsolete, grown out of Fashion..."

[Daniel Defoe:] Not----am Politicks Examin’d. Being an Answer to a Pamphlet lately Publish’d, intituled, Observations upon the State of the Nation. London: Printed for J. Baker, at the Black-Boy in Pater-Noster-Row, 1713.Second edition. Small 8vo pamphlet; 34 pp.

Often (but not universally) attributed to Defoe; a defense of the Harley ministry (1710-14) in response to a pamphlet attributed to Daniel Finch, Earl of Nottingham. Disbound from a nonce volume with remnants of earlier binding on the spine; some soiling/spotting to the title-page and first page of text; intermittent toning to the leaves; a few fore-edges trimmed close, but not affecting any text; otherwise quite clean and sound, binding a bit tender, but the leaves are holding together.
