A Scheme for Establishing a Constitutional Militia. With a Postscript, Relating to the Landed and Moneyed Interest. London: First printed at Eton by J. Pote, in the year 1747. Re-Printed; and sold by Thomas Pote, Bookseller, next Serjeants Inn Gate, in Fleetstreet. November MDCCLVI [1756]. ESTC T93626. First edition thus. Small 8vo; 31, [1] pp. Disbound from a nonce volume with remnants of earlier leather binding on spine; some soiling and toning to the first and last page, a printing flaw (light crease) to one leaf causing the loss of a few letters; otherwise quite clean and fresh.

A work first published in the aftermath of the Jacobite Rising of 1745. "The following Scheme was wrote by a Gentleman of Worth and Distinction, and printed at Eton, soon after the late Rebellion: a Republication,  with some Alterations, is judged not improper at this Season, when the Expediency of a National Militia is universally acknowledged…"
