A strange, unique book in author's elaborate presentation binding of smooth calf stamped in gold.  Spine is stamped in gold with extraordinary intricacy.  The front cover is stamped "From the Author to His Great Admirer Francis Straton Esq. Madras"  All edges gilt.  Red velvet endpapers.  Label relating to "Spiritual Reform of the Church" affixed to front pastedown.  Upper 2 inches of hinge beginning to open.  Half-title and title page in blue.  Frontispiece multi-color lithograph of a "Diagram to illustrate Time and Eternity."  Blocks of blue and yellow are used throughout for small diagrams, often set at contrast to each other in illustration of a point.  An unusual work regarding Christian transcendental theory.
