Roosevelt VG 2 Envelope 1941 In 1946 H R Harmer auctioned off the stamp collection of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Each stamp and item was stamped on the back with Harmer's mark. In this case it read, "FROM THE FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT COLLECTION AUCTIONED FEB. , APRIL, 1946 BY H. R. HARMER INC. , N. Y. The letter is addressed to himself but by a secretarial hand. Always desirable, these items have grown significantly in rarity and value over the last 67 years. The half-title for the 2nd book at pp236 is present, the third, at pp 404 the fourth, at 733 the fifth, 916 funftes buch [two initials removed]. Pagination is [32 OF 36 ? ], 1090, [136]. 8.5" X 14". Wonderful illustrations abound, all 27 plates are present, 4 are double page spreads and one is double fold-out with 2 panels missing from ends. Plates are generally Good or better. Headpieces, tailpieces, elaborated initials. Front hinge cracked, otherwise binding and covers are solid . About half a dozen quarter sized paper losses involving an initial. German language text with scattered Hebrew. Shipping weight is 10 pounds. 350.00
