DISCUSSION: Published in partnership with the Louvre, this French-language
book is part of a series devoted to the history of the museum's
collections, including the large numbers of outstanding pieces from
antiquity that have been sent to provincial museums by the Louvre. Among
the 239 vases, busts, and other antiquities pictured here in color are a
number of pieces from the Giampietro Campana collection, acquired for the
Louvre in 1861 by Napoleon III, as well as Renaissance-era medallions
seized at Gaillon Castle during the revolution.  French text.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 8.5”x11”, 300 pages, color illustrations.

CONDITION NOTES: Minor wear, but otherwise clean and nice, with a tight
binding.
