DISCUSSION: Primarily a survey of churchyards, their gravestones and
epitaphs, published for the Grampian Club. A descriptive text rather than
a collection of transcriptions, although many of the inscriptions are
transcribed here.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 2 volumes. 6"x8.5", xvi + 534; xi + 439 pages. 2
chromolithographed frontispieces, one of Sir Walter Scott's monument in
Edinburgh, the other of the National Wallace Monument. Bound in period
quarter leather.

CONDITION NOTES: Covers with wear and rubbing, one sine label perished; a
little internal soil and spotting; pictures pasted to each front
pastedown.
