1.  BEMELMANS, LUDWIG.  THE GOLDEN BASKET. New York: Viking Press, 
1936. Illustrated by lovely color illustrations throughout by 
Bemelmans. First edition. 4to. Near fine/Near fine. Copyright page 
states "First published September 1936." Unclipped DJ has $2.00 
price. Fine but for two minor corner bumps. Dust jacket has a tiny 
bit of rubbing at top and bottom of spine. First appearance of 
Madeleine, the little girl famous for pointing with a dirty finger, a 
double offense. Pretty bookplate pasted to verso of first free end 
paper.  $450.00

2.  BUZZATI, DINO.  THE BEARS' FAMOUS INVASION OF SICILY. New York, 
NY: Pantheon Books, 1947. Translated by Frances Lobb. First edition. 
Cloth. 8.75 x 11. 147 pgs Near fine/Very good. Wonderful color 
illustrations, owner's inscription. In the dust jacket. Quite scarce.

3.  CARROLL, LEWIS [DODGSON, CHARLES L.].  ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN 
WONDERLAND. ILLUS. BY GWYNEDD M. HUDSON. London: Hodder and 
Stoughton, (1922). Illustrated by Gwynedd M. Hudson with black and 
orange drawings in the text and full-page tipped-in color plates. 
First printing of first edition. Orange linen hardcover with a 
vignette of the turtle and the lobster on the upper board. Near fine. 
A beautiful and charming treatment of Alice's story. Slight sunning 
to spine (lettering still bright,) light foxing to pastedowns but not 
to pages, wear to paper at gutter at pg. 132/133. Otherwise a 
splendid copy of a rare book.  $1600.00

4.  GREENAWAY, KATE.  UNDER THE WINDOW, PICTURES AND RHYMES FOR 
CHILDREN. London: George Routledge & Sons, nd (1878). Illustrated by 
Author. First issue of first edition. Cloth. 7.5 x 9.5. 64 pgs Near 
fine/No jacket, as issued. Pictorial front board. With  Imprint on 
verso of title page and "End of Contents" at foot of pg. 14. This 
first printing has the three illustrations on pgs. 21, 35 and 63, 
which were omitted from later printings. A lovely unsophisticated 
copy in the original glazed boards. Only fault is slight scuffing to 
corners of boards and an owner's bookplate (slightly askew) at first 
free end paper. Quite scarce.  $500.00

5.  GRUELLE, JOHNNY.  THE LITTLE BROWN BEAR. Joliet, IL: P.F. Volland 
Co., 1920. Illustrated by Johhny Gruelle on each page, endpapers and 
binder. First edition. 12mo. 34 pgs Very good. Delightful story about 
Brown Bear and barnyard animals; very colorful illustrations.  Black 
boards with colorful illustrations by author. Gift inscription to 
endpapers; October 19, 1932.  Corners are chipped. Scarce. OCLC lists

YOUNG. IN DUST JACKET. New York: Dutton, 1926. Illustrated by Ernest 
H. Shepard. First American edition. 3/4 pink marble paper over blue 
cloth boards. Decorative Pooh paper label. Dust jacket  has a few 
chips and a mild dampstain along spine. 4to. Fine/Good-very good. 
Music by H. Fraser-Simson.$160.00

7.  OUTHWAITE, IDA RENTOUL AND OUTHWAITE, GRENBRY.  THE ENCHANTED 
FOREST. London: A & C Black, 1921. Illustrated by sixteen tipped-in 
color plates and fifteen b&w full page plates, decorated end-papers . 
First edition. Plaid paper covered boards with blue cloth back; 
pictorial title label pasted-down to front cover, gilt lettering at 
spine. Signed by Anne Dennett on the bookplate. 4to. 93 pgs Very 
good. Previous owner's bookplate at end-paper.  Two of the 16 color 
plates loose, but present.  Corners of boards worn, with shelf wear 
to edges.  Spine cloth torn at front edge, approx 3" from the top. 
Otherwise clean and sound.  $750.00

8.  SINGLETON, ESTHER.  THE WILDFLOWER FAIRY BOOK. New York: Dodd, 
Mead and Company, 1905. Illustrated by Charles Buckles Falls with 
sixteen color plates and decorated end-papers and each of the 
contents pages are decorated with light green wildflowers. First 
edition. Olive green cloth with heavy gilt decorations and lettering, 
t.e.g. Inscribed by "To Anne from Victoria." (Anne Dennett). 8vo. 354 
pgs Fine. Gift inscription at ffep.  Nicely decorated inside and out, 
clean and sound.  $195.00

9.  WAIN, LOUIS AND POPE, JESSIE.  THE CAT SCOUTS: A PICTURE-BOOK FOR 
LITTLE FOLK. London: Blackie and Son, (1912). Illustrated by 
chromolithographs of the famous cats by Louis Wain. First edition. 
Green cloth with pictorial onlay to upper board. Large 8vo. Charming 
book about the adventures of cats learning to be boy scouts. A few 
spots of soiling to pages, slightly bowed. Louis Wain was devoted to 
cats and they were all he wanted to draw. Rare juvenile.  $850.00

10.  WHITE, E. B.  CHARLOTTE'S WEB. New York: Harper & Brothers 
Publishers, (1952). First issue of first edition. Fine/Near fine. 
Unclipped jacket. All points present: Code IB; Price $2.50; 
Publisher's name on spine of DJ: 4 blurbs about STUART LITTLE on rear 
panel. Two 1/4 inch chips to two corners of the DJ and narrow chip 
along bottom of DJ spine. Very crisp and clean copy. Stated first 
edition. One of the books that shaped America, according to Librarian 
of Congress, James Billington.  $1400.00
