David Brewster: On the Distribution of the Colouring Matter, and on certain peculiarities in the Structure and Optical Properties of the Brazilian Topaz. 1822. [BOUND WITH] D. T. Ansted: On a Portion of the Tertiary Formations of Switzerland. 1839. [BOUND WITH] S. P. Rigaud: On the Relative Quantities of Land and Water on the Surface of the Terraqueous Globe. 1837. [Cambridge: Printed at the University Press, 1827, 1842, 1836.] Three separate papers, extracted from broken volumes of the Transactions of the Cambridge Philosophical Society and bound in modern olive-green french wraps; 4to (28 x 22 cm); p. 1-9; 141-152; 289-300 (34 pp. total), plus a colored plate, in-text illustrations.

Three treatises related to geology and mineralogy, the first accompanied by a charming hand-colored plate, one of the few we've encountered in the Cambridge Transactions. Mild toning, a few light spots to the first few leaves, otherwise clean and sound and firmly bound in fresh modern wraps.
