TITLE: “Manuel de la Conservation et de la Restauration des Peintures”
Published in Paris by the Office International des Musees in 1939.
DISCUSSION: A very important text, based on the International Conference
on picture conservation and restoration held in Rome in 1930. The
authors included such specialists as G.L. Stout, H.J. Plenderleith, and
H. Ruhemann, and it has been called the first modern textbook on the
conservation and restoration of paintings. FRENCH TEXT.
DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 7.5"x9.25", 310 pages, 62 black & white
illustrations.
CONDITION NOTES: Light soil, stain on spine, but otherwise clean and
nice, with a tight binding.
