Club, 1963. Quarto (8" x 10-3/4") bound with a black wallaby hide spine
impressed in gold leaf with a symbolic design and bearing a green inlaid
label on which the title and author are stamped in gold; sides are wood
veneer; 504 pages. Copy #1087 of 1500 printed on Australian smooth
cream-tone paper by the Griffin Press in Australia under the supervision
of Douglas Dunstan. Introduction by Sir Charles G. Darwin, grandson of
the author. With 71 illustrations engraved in wood by Paul Landacre, 6
of them full-page two-color engravings. Issued unsigned. Very small
scratch to the spine. Fine in a Fine slipcase. A beautiful book.
