of the year, judged on their printing, illustration, design, and 
binding.Each 28-32 pp., no ills.Original paperbound (light soil, 
wear)./1929/ is in roman, /1930/ and /1931/ are in black letter. A 
fourth catalogue, not here, was issued for1932.the group, $150.00 ppd

Jürgen Holstein's massive survey of book cover and jacket design in 
1919-1933 Berlin, /Blickfang, /devotes a chapter to these annual awards, 
prepared by Harald Stucke.It includes a few illustrations and checklists 
arranged by author.In the original catalogues, the books are arranged by 
publisher, followed by full indexes of author, illustrator, printer, 
typeface, etc.The original catalogues also describe the selection 
criteria and include bibliographical details for each book that are 
omitted from the Stucke lists (edition size, original price, typeface, 
etc.).
