Charles James Fox: A Letter from the Right Honourable Charles James Fox, to the Worthy and Independent Electors of the City and Liberty of Westminster. Dublin: Printed for P. Wogan [et al], 1793. First Dublin edition (same year as the first London edition). Slim 8vo bound in modern marbled boards backed with crimson leather, title in gilt; [4] + 43 + [1] pp.; with the half-title.

The great Whig statesman explains and defends his sympathetic view of the French Revolution to his constituents, a position that had become increasingly dodgy in light of events unfolding across the Channel (Louis XVI had been executed five days before Fox penned this letter and England and France would be at war within the month). The text is crisp, clean and fresh in a striking modern binding; previous owner's handsome bookplate on the front paste-down.
