The Lady's Magazine, or Entertaining Companion for the Fair Sex; Appropriated Solely to Their Use and Amusement. For the Year 1801 [and] 1802. London: Printed for G. and J. Robinson, 1801-02. First editions. Two volumes, thick 8vo; 716 + [4] pp.; 716 + [4] pp. Engraved title-pages and plates, engraved folding patterns and sheet music.

Two consecutive volumes of this early and popular periodical for women, running from January, 1801, to December, 1802. The first volume (1801) with: an engraved frontispiece and title-page, 22 engraved plates, 12 folding patterns (one torn with loss), 10 leaves of folding Sheet Music.  The second volume (1802): engraved frontispiece and title-page, 22 engraved plates (one torn with loss), 8 folding patterns (one with tear), 13 leaves of folding Sheet Music (one torn with loss). There are no fashion plates (of dresses, etc.) present. Bindings well worn and rubbed, all boards detached; some toning, occasional light soiling and foxing to the contents, but generally clean; a few plates mis-folded and/or protruding slightly from the text block, with some wear and soiling to the exposed edges.
