Schaefer's book plate is on the front paste-down. Laid in the four page advertising prospectus for the book. The Grace Company is strongly involved in the Guano business and is mentioned several times in the text of the work. It is not a stretch to call this an association copy. Murphy was with the American Museum of Natural History.
