Amsterdam: Pierre Mortier, 1736. Memoires de l'Academie Royale des Sciences, tome II. Thick 4to (26.5 cm) in later half calf and marbled  boards; [12], 167, [1], 374 pp.; with numerous tables and diagrams, engraved vignette and 21 folding engraved plates (complete).

Contains Blondel's influential treatise solving "four principal problems of architecture": PROB. 1. du Contour de l'enflure & dimunition des Collones; PROB 2. L'Apollonius Francois des Tactions; PROB. 3. des Joints de tete des Arcs rampans; PROB. 4. de la Coupe des Poutres. Also present are four separate mathematical works by Frenicle de Bessy: Methode pour trouver la Solution des Problemes par les Exclusions; Traite des Triangles rectangles en Nombres; Abrege des Combinations; Table generale des Quarez Magiques de quatre cotez (re. "magic squares").

Binding with light wear and rubbing to the boards, bumping to the corners, spine leather darkened and dried; faint toning/dust-soiling to the top edge of the text block, a few tiny scattered spots (mostly imperfections in the paper), otherwise the contents are very clean,  bright and fresh, firmly bound; some dimpling to the laid paper, as usual.
