Following a few views from a visit to New Zealand, the port and mountains
of Aden are shown from the approach at sea. Then come three photogaphs of
the ancient Aden tanks, also known as the Taliwa Tanks or the Cisterns of
Taliwa, considered one of the greatest, historical engineering feats of
South Arabia. This album, however, is centered on India, mainly Kashmir,
and begins with about 20 photographs of a grand horsemanship competition
involving cavalry regiments. Indian Army soldiers are also seen firing
rifles in a large park. A highlight of the album are the photographs of
Naranag Temple and ruins, an impressive relic of early architecture,
situated near Wangat in the Sind Valley, at the base of Harmukh Mountain.
Also seen are views of the Hari Parbat Fort in Srinagar, along with
birdseye views of the expansive city of Srinagar, local men at work, felled
trees being floated down-river, &c. $1,100.00
