DURING WORLD WAR II. Original photographs. Group of 17 originalé
photographs showing the "can do" men of the 84th Battalion, on and off
duty, at Puerto Princesa, Palawan Island, P.I. Subjects are: Seabee boats
and airplanes; Seabee construction activities in the Puerto Princesa
harbor; men playing squash; Dick Jurgens orchestra concert at the Suluview
Theatre; native fishing craft; farewell banquet (with sign: "Good Luck
84th, Bon Voyage); a "Bombed & shelled building which once housed Japs
under false U.S. Prisoner of War sign, Puerto Pr." (so noted on back); a
close-up of a chilling metal cell door; &c.  Black-and-white photographs,
mostly 4" x 5". Very Good. Housed in photo sleeves.
An account of the 84th Battalion's service in World War II, including their
work at Puerto Princesa, Philippine Islands, is recorded in the book "84th
Battalion Seabees, 2nd Anniversary, 1945."   $200.00
