(4),397,(3);(2),292,(4)pp. Title and text on facing pages of French and Italian. Cont. half calf over marbled boards, rubbed. Gilt titling on spines. Ownership rubber stamp of Lord Algernon Percy on half-title of Vol. II, and with his presumed embossed coat-of-arms on all four covers. One leaf in Vol. I with a small paper flaw affecting a few letters but not the readability.    $200.00 (trade discount allowed)
This work of fiction was first published in Paris in 1747. The first English edition, entitled "Letters Written by a Peruvian Princess," was published in Dublin in 1748. Lord Algernon Percy (1750-1830) was the 1st Earl of Beverly.
