[Antoine Aubery:L'Histoire du Cardinal duc de Richelieu. Par le Sieur Aubery advocat au Parlement & aux conseils du Roy. Paris: Bertier, 1660.] FIRST EDITION. Folio (37 cm) in full early/period calf with gilt-tooled borders and decorations, morocco spine label, monogram in gilt at the spine foot (J.B.?); page edges dyed blue, marbled endpapers; [14], 628, [26] pp.; portrait frontispiece, engraved vignettes and initials, woodcut borders and tail-pieces.

Lacking the title-page; binding rubbed, corners bumped and worn, loss to the leather at the bottom of front board due to biopredation, front joint/hinge cracked but board is secure; creasing to the front free-endpaper, toning and light dust-soiling to the top edges of the text block, occasional small scattered spots and stains, a few leaves toward the end with damp-stain to the top edge; else clean and sound, firmly bound. Not be confused with the author's more commonly encountered <i>Memoires pour l'Histoire du Cardinal duc de Richelieu</i> published later the same year.
