A Correct Chart of the West Indies. Engraved for Malham's Naval Gazetteer. [WITH:] A Correct Chart of the Coasts of South America from the Equator to Cape Horn. [ibid.] London: 1801. Two copper-engraved maps, hand-colored in outline, on laid paper; 262 x 210 mm (10 1/8 x 8 1/4 in). Original engravings, not modern reproductions. Near Fine: light creasing, some light soiling to the West Indies map, but generally very clean, crisp and bright, the (presumably later) hand-coloring fresh and expertly executed.

A handsome pair of nautical charts, depicting (among other anomalies) Tierra del Fuego as a single large land mass, the Rio de la Plate extending nearly halfway across the continent, the province of New Leon north of Mexico extending into Louisiana, Isabela Island among the Galapagos designated as "Albemarle Island," etc.
